100 years ago: The trial of John E. Graves on a charge of first-degree murder, as the result of the killing of Matt A. Pheney in Durango, was set for Nov. 26 in district court.

75 years ago: San Juan County, New Mexico, was announced to have a pheasant season in 1942, according to the state game commission.

50 years ago: Dist. Atty. Al Haas said “he probably will have to disqualify himself from prosecuting a case against James E. McDaniel of Bloomfield,” after McDaniel stole the DA’s automobile and drove it to Delta, where McDaniel was found the previous week.

25 years ago: Someone slashed all of the tires of a vehicle parked at Denny’s, 666 Camino del Rio.
